Terms of service.

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the Roofaio desktop application (the "App") and the roofaio.com website (the "Site"), together the "Service," provided by Roofaio ("Roofaio," "we," "us"). By creating an account, starting a trial, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to bind that company, and "you" includes that company.

1. The Service

Roofaio is a desktop takeoff application for commercial roofing estimating. It runs on your Windows computer. Your plan sets, project files, prices, formulas, and margins are stored on your machine as portable .rooftk files — they are your data, and they stay with you. An optional AI assistant feature is available when you sign in with your own Anthropic Claude subscription.

2. Accounts and licensing

To use the App you need a Roofaio ID, issued when you subscribe. The App checks in with our license server periodically to validate your subscription; if your computer is offline, the App continues to work for a grace period of seven (7) days between check-ins. Each seat is licensed to a single named user within your company; a seat's Roofaio ID may be activated on up to three (3) computers owned or controlled by your company, for use only by that seat's user. Additional users require additional seats. You may not share a Roofaio ID or seat between users or outside your company, sell or sublicense access, or circumvent the license check.

3. Trial, billing, and cancellation

• Free trial. New subscriptions begin with a 7-day free trial. A credit card is required to start the trial.
• First charge. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is first charged on day 8, beginning a monthly subscription at $199 per seat per month (plus applicable taxes).
• Renewal. The subscription renews monthly until canceled. You authorize us (through our payment processor) to charge your payment method each billing period.
• Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your account page or by emailing roofaio.support@gmail.com. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access through the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not prorate partial months.
• Price changes. If we change the subscription price, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance; the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period.

Purchases are processed by Stripe through its Managed Payments service, under which Stripe acts as the merchant of record for the transaction: Stripe handles payment collection, applicable sales and use taxes, and payment-related disputes, and your card statement and receipt may show Stripe as the seller. These Terms still govern your license to use the App. We never see or store your full card number. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.

4. Your responsibility for the numbers

Roofaio measures geometry and applies your prices, formulas, coverages, waste factors, and margins. It does not know market pricing and does not estimate what a roofer should charge. Statements on the Site about accuracy refer to measured quantities (such as scale verification against printed dimensions), not to bid pricing. You are responsible for reviewing the takeoff, bill of materials, estimate, and proposal before relying on them or submitting a bid. Roofaio is a tool, not an estimator of record: the numbers you send are yours.

5. The AI assistant

• The assistant is optional. Every Roofaio feature works without it.
• The assistant signs in with your Claude subscription, under your own Anthropic account. Your use of the assistant is also subject to Anthropic's terms. We do not mark up or meter your Claude usage.
• When you use the assistant, images of the drawing pages you direct it to are sent from your machine to Anthropic. Your price library, formulas, and margins are never sent.
• The assistant operates through the same commands available to you, and its work is undoable and editable. Where it cannot verify something, it presents options for your decision rather than guessing. You remain responsible for reviewing its output.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer the App except where such restriction is prohibited by law; (b) use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others; (c) upload or process content you have no right to use; (d) interfere with the license server or other Roofaio infrastructure; or (e) resell, rent, or provide service-bureau access to the Service.

7. Intellectual property

We own the App, the Site, and the Roofaio brand. You own your project files, your price library, and the proposals you produce. We claim no rights over your bid documents. Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and The EDGE are trademarks of their respective owners; references on the Site are for comparison only and imply no affiliation or endorsement.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that measured quantities will be free of error in every document.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost bids, or lost business, arising from or related to the Service; and (b) our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; where they don't, they apply to the greatest extent permitted.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms by posting the revised version here and, for material changes, notifying active subscribers by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms; you may terminate at any time by canceling your subscription. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4, 7, 8, and 9) survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state where Roofaio is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts of that state, unless the law of your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
